Photo location & direction

Not just where you were. Which way you were looking.

Where I Look? reads the GPS and compass data already hidden in your photos and draws a field-of-view cone on the map — the exact spot, aimed the exact way, sized to your lens. A Live Mode does the same thing in real time, right now, wherever you're standing.

Free, no account, nothing leaves your phone.

How it works

Two ways to see a direction

From a photo already in your library, or from wherever you're standing right now.

01

Pick a photo

Open any photo in your library that has GPS and compass metadata — no import, no setup.

02

See the cone

The app draws where you stood and exactly which way the camera was aimed, sized to your lens' angle of view.

03

Or go live

Switch to Live Mode and the same cone follows your current GPS position and compass heading in real time.

Features

Everything hidden in a photo's metadata, made visible

Where I Look? turns GPS, compass heading, and lens data your camera already recorded into something you can actually see.

Gallery

Browse your full photo library in a paginated grid — including iOS's limited-photo-access mode.

Field-of-view cone

Tap a photo to see its exact location and the direction the camera was pointing, sized to your lens' angle of view.

Live Mode

The same cone, driven by your device's live GPS position and compass heading as you move and turn.

Adjustable range

A slider controls how far the cone extends on the map, from a tight street corner to a distant skyline.

Full-resolution view

Pinch-to-zoom on the original photo right from the map, no switching back to your gallery app.

Graceful fallback

Missing GPS, compass, or lens data? You get a clear explanation instead of a wrong guess.

Everything stays on your device

Your photos, their GPS coordinates, and your live location are read locally to draw the cone. Nothing is uploaded, tracked, or sent to a server — there's no account, and no network connection involved.
